Playwright and Producer
As a playwright, Isabel's credits include Troll, All Is Bright and The Plough with Burn Bright Theatre (the latter of which is now under commission from Seahorse Films as her debut screenplay). Elsewhere credits include SLAMINUTES (SLAM), The Collective Project (Tristan Bates, Pensive Federation), Seize The Stage (Richmix, All The Rage Theatre), Heartlines (The Last Refuge, Anytime Anywhere Theatre), and the 24 Hour Plays with Old Vic New Voices in 2010, as well as developing comedy sketches for Edinburgh Fringe and BAFTA. Isabel is also a graduate of the Royal Court, Soho Theatre and Lyric Young Writers Programmes and London Playwriting Lab, and is currently a member of the Soho Writers' Alumni Group. She was shortlisted for the Old Vic 12 in 2017, nominated for the Off West-End Adopt A Playwright scheme in 2014 and is the recipient of the 2015 Jack Wills Young Brit Award for Creativity.
As a producer, credits include One Last Thing [For Now] (Old Red Lion), There's No Place Like (San Diego Fringe/Hollywood Fringe), The Parliament of Fowls (Theatre Delicatessen Sheffield), In Memory of Leaves (Renegade Female), Skin A Cat (VAULT Festival), A Little Princess (Marine Theatre Dorset) The Rules (Sprocket Theatre, Edinburgh Fringe/Theatre503), The Man Who Found His Freedom, Manifesto., Berlin and The Lighthouse (all The Space), and The Hotel (47/49 Tanner Street). Isabel also helped to launch new writing initiative Script6 in 2013 and works as a facilitator for the London Playwriting Lab.
Director and Workshop Facilitator
Katherine trained at the University of York with a degree in Writing, Directing and Performance and is also a graduate of the Young Vic Directors' Network Springboard scheme. She has worked extensively with new writing and emerging playwrights, with companies including the Genesis Cinema, Sell a Door Theatre and Descent Theatre. As an ongoing attachment with the Space, she directed a number of rehearsed readings as part of the theatre’s 2014 new writing initiative ScriptSpace.
Credits as a director include The One Festival and Berlin (The Space), The Unfortunates (The Space and Calder Bookshop Theatre), Malborough Road (The Hen & Chickens), Heartlines (The Last Refuge), as well as Vernon God Little, All Is Bright, Troll and The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged) for Burn Bright Theatre. Assisting credits include The Grand Guignol (The Space, dir. Adam Hemming), The Winters Tale (Regent's Park Open Air Theatre, dir. Ria Parry), Machinal (Arts Ed, dir. Ria Parry), Joe/Boy (The Last Refuge, dir, Natalie Ibu) and Symmetry (Southwark Playhouse Schools Tour, dir. Natalie Ibu).
Also a workshop leader, Katherine has worked extensively with children and adults in both schools and community settings. This has included launching and facilitating new community project Acting Mature and radio play Here, There and Back Again for Age UK, developing workshops for KS2 classes on contemporary chidren's books and working as a professional tutor for The Space.
